Aspasia Kralli has been an actress since 1975. After gaining a scholarship for a postgraduate degree in International Law in Paris, she came across Marcel Marceau's School and she decided to change direction by studying mime there. When she returned to Athens she graduated the National Theatre School of Drama and since then she has served all kinds of theatrical genres often in leading roles.Since 1992 (when she founded the 'Theatre of Silence' Company) she has focused on the Art of Mime (in order to revive and to consecrate the theatrical genre of Mime which is of Greek origin), by creating plays with an accomplished dramaturgical setting and deriving their themes from ancient Greek myths on which the great Greek tragedies have been based on, but also from more universal themes like love and the relationships between teachers and students. Although Aspasia Kralli was a student of Marcel Marceau, she has distanced herself from the language of French mime and with her plays has introduced a theatrical language which is rooted on the importance of ordinary and everyday movement. Since 1995 she has taught and trained young actors according to this method and philosophy.
